Announcement of the Recipient of
the 5th Tamio Yamakawa Award (2024)

Japan Consortium for Glycobiology & Glycotechnology (JCGG) presents the Tamio Yamakawa Award to a researcher who has made significant contributions to the advancement of glycoscience. This award is presented biennially.

Following deliberations by the Selection Committee and JCGG Executive Board, it has been decided that the 2024 Award will be presented to Dr. Richard D. Cummings (S. Daniel Abraham Professor of Surgery, Chief, Division of Surgical Sciences, Department of Surgery, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School). The award ceremony and Dr. Cummings' Tamio Yamakawa Award Lecture are scheduled to take place at the 22nd JCGG Symposium (planned for September 19, 2025, at the Main Hall of Hoshi University Main Building).
